Volunteer
Volunteers are very special to us. They bring alot of gifts and talents In the orphanage. We accept volunteers from all over the world. You dont have to have a past experience in order to volunteer in our orphanage.we usually have openning for volunteer between a length of 2-4 weeks. For those willing to commit themselves for longer period  we can also put into consideration.

We do have open "positions" that we are seeking to fill with short-term volunteer. All short-term volunteers raise their own financial support.

This information will help us get an overview of your background, interests, and goals, which can then serve as the basis for further discussion.  If you would be serving Hope community centre as a couple, please complete the questionnaire on behalf of each spouse.


What we offer
We offer accommodation on site for your stay,adjoining the staffs accommodation and meal.There are people around in the office and on the property during the day, and night and at various other times for church activities. It’s a fun family environment. Shops are close by 2km. There are large shopping centres in town about 25 kilometres away in Naivasha.During your time-off, there are also opportunities to explore other parts of kenya, including visiting game parks, lakes,mountains, museums, etc.(All arrangement will be made by the orphanage).We need people who are able to function well as part of a team, with an attitude of servant-heartedness.

Volunteer responsibilities include:
1.To respect the rights of clients/childrens with whom they work.
2.To respect and abide by the policies and practices of the organisation.                                                        
Volunteer participation includes:
1. Partcipating in recreation activities example; games and sports.
2. Helping the teachers in a class to teach especially english and maths.
3 Helping with guidance and counselling session especially teenangers.
4.Visiting the local community during outing and weekends.
5. Participating in a weekly planning of activity.
6. Helping to plan  social activities/some church program.
7. story telling, music and entertainment.

Some Basic requirements
•Day timer.
•Language books (Swahili / English).
•Travel journal/Travel Guide.
•Pens / pencils/crayons/makers.
•Scarf / bandana / hat (keeps dust out of hair when traveling).
•Eyeshade / ear plugs.
•Flashlight with one/two extra batteries.
•Digital camera must have plug-in converter.
•Umbrella (optional)
•Medication: Personal prescription, Tylenol, advil for headache or fever if necessary.

:All incoming visitors to Kenya (except East African Citizens) will now require a visa, .click here

Travel Insurance: If you need medical care whilst in Kenya, it is best to be aware that medical providers may not accept payment through your insurance company. In these circumstances you will have to pay in full after your treatment and file a claim with your insurance company for reimbursement. Therefore you should have access to cash, either from a credit card or by wire transfer. If you need assistance contact the country's local embassy or representative.To be compensated you must be treated by licensed medical personnel and provide your insurance company with proper documentation and receipts.
Electrical Power:Electric Power is 240V running at 50Hz. The Plug types used are : Rectangular blade plug
